Hello, my name is Janitha, and I am a Software Engineer and a Technology Enthusiast.

Originally from Sri Lanka, I moved to the United States a decade ago and now living in Houston, Texas. Last year I graduated from Texas A&M University as a Computer Engineering major, Whoop! Over the years, I have worked at Garrett Engineering, Department of Statistics at Texas A&M University, Security Technology Group at Cisco Systems, and various other systems and projects. Right now, I am the Technical Lead and Founder of Picsna, a personal photo management related web startup.

I am, and have always been, very passionate about all things relating to Technology, Sciences and Engineering. Anything new and challenging will grab my attention until I figure out how it works front-to-back without exception. This habit had a nasty side effect when I was small, since I took everything apart around me from TVs to chemical mixes, or trying to build projects that were fun and interesting without much regard to personal safety. I still do that, only difference is I now take apart and build projects that are useful and marketable, and instead of the actions being called mischief, it's now called a career.

As far as taking sides on the technical religions wars, I am a C++ compiling, Boost boosting, Python interpreting, MongoDB querying, Pylons frameworking, Emacs editing, *nix booting, Zsh shelling, Pastafarian evangelist.

On the more finer aspects of life, Music, Movies and the Arts play a huge role in my day to day life. To such a degree that I do not function without music, it acts like a pacemaker for my work. I collect music and movies compulsively, although my genre interests change very frequently. Abstract and unconventional art provide me a getaway and a source of inspiration. Photography is my current addiction, which is a great way to spend outdoors and get creative as well. On top of that, I also enjoy driving, playing tennis, cooking, mixing, drawing, and just letting time pass and relaxing. It's good for you.

And finally, my principle in life is very simple and short: Enjoy life, you've only got one. Observe the Past, Celebrate the Future, but only Live in the Present.
